Vibrant and refreshing, this is the most transparent wine we make, a pure expression of our estate vineyards. We produced our first Riesling in 1974, made in a distinctively dry and crisp style. It has been a family favorite ever since. Bright and aromatic, it is marvelously food-friendly and cellar-worthy.
The growing season began early after a very dry winter that included only half of our typical rainfall. The summer was sunny and pleasant, our warmest since 2003, and the harvest began a few weeks earlier than usual. There were two significant heat spells, one in mid-August and one in early September, but the grapes escaped damage as we have adapted our practices over the years to include more natural shading and the use of sprinklers for cooling. The white wines from this vintage feature concentrated flavors and our signature brightness on the palate.
This Dry Riesling is crisp and zesty, showing beautiful notes of lemon, lime, and spring flowers. The nose explodes with fresh aromas of lemongrass, ginger, and white pepper. It’s balanced with refreshing acidity and an elegant finish.
Though this is a versatile wine, it’s perfectly paired with lighter cuisine. Try simple fish, chicken, or pasta dishes with citrus flavors and avoid strong tomato-based sauces. Winery Chef Chris Kennedy suggests enjoying this wine with our Dungeness Crab Salad with Tart Apple and Toasted Ciabatta.
