Our early plantings of Malbec were intended for blending into our other estate grown wines but we quickly realized the variety also wanted to speak for itself. This small-lot bottling showcases intense dark fruit notes, undertones of mint and leather and fine tannins leading to a bright finish.
Record-breaking winter rains filled our reservoirs and recharged the soil. Spring and early summer were warm, leading to very strong growth in the vines. The rest of the summer was more typical with warm days and cool nights, providing perfect conditions for the developing grapes. Our yields for the season were slightly lower than average and the resulting wines are classic—with complex flavors and our signature brightness on the palate.
Wonderfully ripe and boisterous, this wine presents aromas of blueberries, boysenberries, tobacco leaf, and dark chocolate. Rich undertones of toasted oak and caramel support the elegant palate.
