The future of our winery is in our vineyards. The future of our family is in our children for whom this wine is named—Hailey and Lorenzo. This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the very finest lots of our Hillspring Vineyard.
This is an age-worthy wine that is exuberant, expressive, and ultimately exquisite. Aromas of cedar, tar, vanilla and blackberry are complemented by irresistible flavors of cassis, fresh plum, and a dusting of cocoa powder. Lingering threads of pepper and bay leaf carry through the bright but soft and silky finish.
Much of our winter rain came late, with almost 12 inches in March alone. After a very warm spring, July and August were cooler than average, with foggy mornings, mild sunny afternoons and no severe heat spells. Vineyard temperatures rose again in September and harvest dates were early by about two weeks. The heat in the spring and again in the fall provided welcome bookends to the mild summer. The grapes benefited from increased hang time and showed fantastic character development.
