"The ultimate food wine."
Pinot Noir is a delicate grape, famously reflective of the place and people that grow it. Made with a gentle touch, this carefully crafted small-lot wine reveals the distinctive character of our estate vineyards.
Layered aromas of porcini mushroom, rhubarb, raspberry leaf, and black pepper define the nose. On the palate, this Pinot Noir opens softly before building through a richer mid-palate. Whole cluster fermentation adds nuance, highlighting notes of cherry skin and fresh raspberry.
The winter leading up to the growing season brought over 40” of rain, which was above average and a welcome change from the preceding drier years. Cool to moderate temperatures delayed budbreak and bloom by approximately two weeks and persisted as the growing season progressed. The vines grew at a leisurely pace, which allowed us to precisely time all our viticultural activities. Throughout harvest, the grapes had the opportunity to fully ripen with lower sugar and higher acidity, producing deep and bright wines of exceptional quality, reminiscent of classic heralded Napa vintages.
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with dishes that highlight mustard, sage, and lean proteins. Winery Chef Chris Kennedy recommends a simple preparation of pork chops and roasted carrots, where savory herbs and natural sweetness complement the wine’s earthy depth and bright red fruit.
