Twilight at Trefethen

Learn about the journey from vine to wine with our immersive Vineyard Tour & Tasting. Your visit begins with a guided walk among the vines, covering our rich winegrowing history and our award winning sustainability programs. After that, you will head to the cellar for a behind the scenes view into our winemaking operations and the experience concludes with a curated tasting of wines sourced from the very vineyard you walked through.

This fully immersive and private experience features our Legacy Collection wines. Hosted by certified sommeliers, guests will be greeted at the Historic Winery and taken on a brief tour of the winery before being guided through expansive gardens to the Villa, which previously served as the Trefethen family home. A sample menu features Katie’s Acre Chardonnay enjoyed with Classic Caviar Service for Two, and The Cowgirl and Pilot Merlot paired with California Lamb Loin with Roasted Baby Carrots, Cumin Spiked Yogurt, and Carrot Top Chimichurri. A rare vertical offering of HāLo Cabernet Sauvignon is complemented by Dry Aged Beef Rib Eye with Puffed Bread and White Cheddar Mousse. This experience lasts two hours and is offered weekly on Fridays at 1 pm.

Upon arrival, guests choose from three distinct flights—Essentials, Small Lots, and All Reds. Each flight includes a taste of five different wines, collectively reflecting the diversity of the Trefethen portfolio. The flights are offered inside our historic winery and in our beautiful courtyard.

After checking in at the Historic Winery, guests are escorted to the Villa for this tasting of limited-production wines, including our award-winning Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The inclusion of a charcuterie board with cured meats, local cheeses, and our own estate grown preserves provides a delightful experience of balanced flavors, enhancing the enjoyment of these special wines. To further elevate your experience, we invite you to explore our Legacy Collection wines: Katie’s Acre Chardonnay, The Cowgirl & The Pilot Merlot and HāLo, our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon—simply select this option at booking.

The evenings are glorious in the Napa Valley, and Twilight at Trefethen is perfect for guests that are looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply want to relax in a fully private setting. With only one booking available each night, you will have the estate to yourselves for a private tour followed by the full Taste the Estate experience - five of our finest wines paired with sublime bites crafted by Winery Chef Chris Kennedy. A sensory exploration of two of our Legacy Collection wines. Experience the newly released Katie’s Acre Chardonnay and The Cowgirl and The Pilot Merlot, crafted and named in honor of two generations of Trefethens. This estate vineyard experience begins with a tour of the Historic Winery followed by a vineyard walk to Katie’s Acre for an immersive tasting in the vineyard under the shade of the grand Paradox walnut tree.
