2008 Cabernet Sauvignon
Our Cabernet Sauvignon vines are planted in the northwestern quadrant of our estate vineyard in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, in gravelly soils that warm quickly in the spring. This warmer site, combined with limited yields, produces Cabernet Sauvignon fruit with bright, complex flavors, resulting in wine with deep ruby color and heady aromas of plums, blackberries, and forest-floor spice.

The growing season in 2008 began with more spring frost events than we have experienced in decades. You could find the crew two out of every three nights during the month of April in the vineyard “frost-protecting”. Rainfall wasn’t as generous as in past years either. However the summer growing season was splendid, followed by a beautiful fall that provided the perfect finish for the vintage.
The WineLush aromas fill your glass with black currant, boysenberries, and bing cherries. On the palate, these fruit flavors lengthen into a spicy finish with the help of balanced tannin as a backbone. The medium weight body adds a soft texture that coats your mouth and lingers long after your last sip.
Food AffinitiesMushrooms are a wonderful bridge between wine and food dishes, especially for Cabernet Sauvignon. Add a piece of protein such as beef, lamb, or game and your palate will be singing with happiness.
