Taste the Estate

For guests looking to immerse themselves in the flavors of Trefethen, Taste the Estate provides an educational and fun way to experience the full bounty of our estate—from the garden to the glass. After a brief tour of our Historic Winery, guests are guided to the Villa, a former family residence surrounded by gorgeous gardens. Each wine is presented with a delectable bite from Winery Chef Chris Kennedy.
A sample menu features seared pacific scallop with cantaloupe emulsion and sunflower granola, yakitori -grilled Hen of the Woods mushroom with cabernet tare and cured egg yolk and air bread “tartine” with A5 Wagyu beef and aged California cheddar.
The 90-minute experience is offered daily at 3pm for up to 10 guests and features four wines.

Our exclusive Legacy Tasting is personally hosted by third generation Trefethen family member Lorenzo Trefethen and showcases Trefethen’s smallest production wines alongside seasonal pairings from Winery Chef Chris Kennedy.
Guests are welcomed with a taste of Trefethen’s Dry Riesling and a walk through the recently restored Historic Winery which dates back to the 19th century. Next up is a tour of the estate vineyard, including a stop at Katie’s Acre, named after Lorenzo and Hailey’s grandmother and the source of the winery’s age-worthy Harmony Chardonnay. After returning to the Villa, a former family home surrounded by gorgeous gardens, Lorenzo will present the estate’s newest wine, the inaugural vintage of The Cowgirl and The Pilot Merlot, a touching tribute to Lorenzo and Hailey’s parents, the winery’s founders.
The experience concludes with HāLo, the family’s award-winning flagship Cabernet Sauvignon which is sourced entirely from their Hillspring vineyard. Examples of the elevated bites include gougères of fresh goat cheese mousse with tarragon and toasted hazelnuts and A5 Wagyu beef “lollipops” with Trefethen breadsticks, wild arugula, and black pepper crème.
