The Vintage

As farmers, Mother Nature keeps us on our toes and the 2015 growing season was no exception. The vines awoke early because of warm spring weather. By the time the vines began to flower, we had some unusually cool weather which reduced the number of grapes per cluster. We could already see we were in for a lighter crop–fewer grapes on each cluster and the grapes would be smaller because of dry soils due to the ongoing drought. The weather stayed warm throughout the summer, keeping the vines running about three weeks early. The yields were lower than most years but the flavors were fantastic. It was our earliest harvest ever. As the wines develop in the cellar, the quality has been outstanding.

The Wine

The wine captivates with aromas of orange blossom and lime zest. Smiles will be invoked with the tropical palate and highlights of nectarine, apricot, honey-crisp apple and pear. Fresh and flavorful, the wine is fermented in stainless steel to preserve varietal character.

Food Affinities

Think spice. Strong Indian and Asian spices are a perfect match with our Dry Riesling. The wine also pairs well with crab, shellfish, sushi and seared Ahi tuna. Our favorite match is on a porch swing or sipping by the pool.
