Our Cabernet Sauvignon vines are planted in the gravelly soils of our estate vineyard in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. These well-drained soils, combined with limited yields and our moderate climate, produce Cabernet Sauvignon fruit with complex flavors and a special brightness on the palate.

With a warm spring, the vines got off to an early start. The weather turned cool during bloom which impacted fruit set and resulted in fewer grapes per cluster. The size of the crop was further reduced as the dry soils, from a lack of late rains, led to smaller grapes. The weather was warm throughout the summer leading right into one of our earliest harvests ever. The resulting wines are fantastic as the smaller grapes and fine weather contributed ideal ripeness with very concentrated flavors.The Wine
Deep ruby in color, this exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon opens with fragrant notes of blackberry, bay leaf, coffee and chocolate. The palate is supported by velvety tannins and features flavors that tend more towards red cherries and baking spices.Food Affinities
This elegant wine pairs best with fine cuts of beef or venison. A simple complement to the meat can be fresh tarragon or black pepper. Other favorite recipes include wine braised short ribs and grilled beef tenderloin with a mushroom sauce. For something unexpected and delightful, pair this wine with rare Ahi tuna in a peppercorn crust.Accolades
