Another in a series of cooler vintages, 2011 got off to a late start with a cool and wet spring. It even rained a couple inches in June, a month that is typically dry. The rest of the summer was more seasonable, although not quite as hot as usual. With vine development progressing, but still delayed, we were delighted to have a very warm and dry September. October was a roller coaster with some rains and high humidity early on and then, thankfully, some dry and warm winds from the north provided the finishing touch for the later varieties.
The WineAromas of honeysuckle, orange blossom, ruby red grapefruit and lingering tropical notes are met on the palate with delightful acidity and minerality, showcasing flavors of lime and white peach.
Food AffinitiesSeared Ahi, lemon chicken, green curries & southwestern dishes are a few of the matches for this versatile food wine.
